Day 1 Business speed dating in Brive dept 19. Tuesday 24th of November.

Well today started badly for me Amanda as yesterday day I had taken my twelve-year-old son to have his hair trimmed. I can say it was only trimmed but he hated it and refused to go to school. Great I thought just when I am going away for six days. Husband lost it with him and I was left to bundle him in the car and ship him off to school sobbing his heart out. I then needed to get some last minute shopping still very upset from Charlie I gathered what I needed and started to queue in this very long queue Along came two ladies that decided to create as they wanted another till open. The cashier told them that no other till would be open and with that they pushed in!!. At this moment I was so angry as my French was not good enough to argue. With steam coming out of my eyes, ears and mouth I gritted my teeth and started to put my shopping on the belt. Finally when it came to the two ladies to pay they said that the cashier had got it wrong. Oh my god I thought are you joking!!. The time was now 10.30 and we were meant to leave by 10. After the cashier looked at the receipt she noticed that she had charged 41 euros for a bag of sweets instead of 41cents and with no apologies she gave the refund to the ladies. I am glad that she hadn't made that mistake with me as the mood I was in I probably would of paid it to get out of there.
I returned home only to find that Melanie hadn't arrived as one of her cats hadn't returned home so it was 11.30 before we left home for our trip. Just before leaving I placed a newly printed car magnet on the bonnet of my car.
Here we were off to Brive to meet Amanda Kiff from the FBCCI for an evening of fun all be it 4.5h away.
10 minutes from home along a very busy road something large and red flashed before our eyes. Melanie then said I think that was your new car sign. Great I thought and looked quickly for a turning point on this very busy road. By some sort of miracle we saw it rolling about to the side of the road. I pulled over and Melanie started to play dare with the lorries to grab it while it was being blown down the road. The day had barely started and I felt the urge for a drink!!. Still onwards and upwards we continued for an hour or so had a bite to eat and reached Brive at about 5.30 a little later than anticipated. We off loaded our things in the hotel room and cracked open a bottle of fizz. We were now ready for our business speed dating. A shining star was in front of us with the biggest smile ever. Yes it was Amanda Kiff at last we had met her and we both felt that we had known her for ages. We were given a number and instructions on where to go. I was excited but as we looked around we were relieved that it was only business speed date and not one for love!!.
All sorts of people arrived, tall ones, short ones, funny ones and one came with straw on her back! We think that she must have had her bit of dating before!!. What a great time we all had and so many people had heard about us but it was so nice to meet face to face. Three minutes seemed such a long time to talk and the last group told me not to bother as Melanie the other wing had explained it all. Fine I thought, as by this time I was sick of hearing my own voice. By eight o'clock it was drink time and Guy from Barclays bank was very good at pouring the wine in fact too good. The food was delicious too. We noticed that we hadn't had the chance to speak with everybody and Melanie had spotted a 6ft something giant and she asked me who he was. Oh yes Melanie he is a professional rugby player. Well that was it as she has had a plan for angel Traders to create a rugby calender I think more of a fantasy than a business plan!!. Well I will be dammed I could hear her explaining that her beautician skills would be necessary for the job and he was agreeing and said he was sure that the team would agree. With excitement her feet went from under her and she grabbed this giant who helped her get on her feet. I turned to Amanda Kiff and the words "sorry" came out. I think Melanie was so excited at the idea as she had met a photographer the same evening and in her mind the calender had just started!!.
Amanda Kiff had also organised a business card prize draw to win two tickets for a rugby match in Brive. Guess who put their cards in first? Yes it was Melanie. Oh no I thought if she doesn't win what would be her next plan to get them!!. Well she didn't win but chatted a rather long time with the guy that did. He said " what are you doing on the" and before he could give a date she said "nothing". I thought come on girl have some standards. When she wants something she won't give up!!. The great evening came to an end and we were on a mission to find a nice bar and see the highlights of Brive. Mind you I think Melanie had had a lot of high lights on this evening already. We said our good-byes and walked towards the town and bumped into Philippe the man who had won the rugby tickets he asked, " where are you ladies off too?" We replied to find a bar". With that he offered to take us in his car to see the beautiful town of Brive. It was fascinating and so was he. How kind was that?. We were not so sure that we would have the same welcome in England. With his rugby tickets firmly held to his chest he dropped us off at an Irish pub just a stones throw away from our hotel. We had just one drink and a bowl of perfect fat chips. What a wonderful time we had and it was only 10.30 when we were tucked up in bed.

Day 2 Chateau Sedieres

We had arranged to meet with Amanda Kiff to plan a business fair in the Chateau.
We arrived at this amazing Chateau and when we entered it had such a magical atmosphere and we both felt so privileged to have been invited. We need to confirm dates for the event but we really can't wait until the day of this fair. So watch the website for details. Already it was dinnertime and we decided to go to Tulle for lunch. We found a great restaurant and had a very nice lunch and Melanie was still wanting to discuss the calender!!.
We headed off to Eymet where we have rented a house for five days. We stopped and got some shopping and went to find the house. We had rough directions and when we found the road I saw a sign that translated to funeral bedrooms I said to Melanie if it's near there I am out of here!!. We telephoned our host Fiona who came and welcomed us to a lovely gite. Still worried about the sign that I had seen I asked her about it. She reassured me that the parlour was further down the road and not to worry!!.
We unloaded the car and settled down to poached Salmon and wild rice put a Harry Potter movie on and enjoyed a bar of Cadbury's dairy milk, which we had purchased in Eymet. We really do love it here.
Melanie went to bed early to dream of the calender which she is producing next year she has booked Mr. November but she wants to dream of the other eleven months!!. I went to bed hoping that my son had got over his new hairstyle and the thought of good old egg and bacon for breakfast tomorrow!!.

Day 3 Eymet
After a good nights sleep we were up and ready for the Market in Eymet. First stop was Julian from the tile shop a regular exhibitor of ours. It was great to see him and his fantastic shop.
The people of Eymet were great and hundreds of leaflets were distributed together with shop posters. The wonderful aromas of all the different foods on offer made us very hungry!!.
We spoke with some traders that were very interested in our Christmas fayre in the Chateau Le mas de Montet on the 13th of December.
On our travels we went to a fab bar in called the Gambetta in the heart of the town. The owner was very helpful and friendly and we said it would great for them to speak with Martin from angloinfo.com as they want to advertise their company. We are always trying to help. We try to promote you all when your services are needed.
Walking back to our gite we saw Julian again he offered us coffee but we said that we only drink hot chocolate and to get some in for when we return. Tomorrow we are off to a big expo to put posters on every car and to prepare the salon at the beautiful Chateau des Vigiers.

Angel Traders Business Fairs

Day Four
Well we got up early and made our way to the Chateau and felt so privileged to be holding our business fair in such a wonderful place.
The hall had a beautiful painting at one end. It was a picture of the mad hatter’s tea party. The chairs were red velvet and fit for king and queen! It wasn't long before everything was in place for the big day tomorrow. We then went to see a lady who is in charge of events at the chateau as we are helping to coordinate a wedding for next September. We talked and took many pictures for the bride to be.
We next went to another town to make some last minute advertising.
We were given some tickets for a bio expo in Bergerac. It was late we were tiered and took the wrong turning parked the car and ended up in a gypsy encampment. The trailers were all out of this world and all had satellite TV. We were so tiered and our accommodation that we had booked didn't have a bath or heating that was working but looking at the vans in front of us it looked like they would probably have hot tubs! Anyway we decided it might be safer to swiftly move on and get back in our car and find the venue. The welcome was cold the venue looked terrible compared to the chateau we had just left.
There were 70 stands offering a healthy lifestyle. We can only describe it as a chocoholic’s nightmare! Yes we did find something to buy. Pink bubbly it was fab but we are still not sure what was healthy about it.
It was 8pm before we got back to our gite. We decided to go for a quick drink and have some dinner when we got home. As a rule we never drink the night before the venue. While staying in Eymet we had discovered the beer "desperado" with a slice of lemon. So easy to drink and after a couple of them in the Gambetta we were tapping away to the band which was playing.
We spoke with the vocalist and a photographer introduced himself. We had a good time the beers made me very tiered but Melanie decided to cook a big dinner for herself. I set the alarm for 6.30am and fell asleep and had an early night ready for our special day tomorrow.

Angel Traders Business Fairs

Day 5
Bright and breezy we were ready. The chateau had made signs for the parking and Big dish was first to set up. It was great to see all of the familiar faces. We feel that we have made a lot of friends.
A man came up to us and said hello my name is Bernard panic struck as I didn't have an exhibitor named Bernard. The hall had been planned very carefully and there was no room left. Horrified I said " and which company are you representing?". He replied " I am the MD of the chateau". Relived in one way for not forgetting an exhibitor but totally embarrassed not to have been introduced to him before.
The day was just perfect and people just kept coming in.
New businesses came and introduced themselves. They had been following the success of our fairs and now wanted to be part of our success.
Matt and Alistair had invited the exhibitors to the after fair get together where everybody had the opportunity to network and to talk about the success of the day.
Many contacts were made and everybody that exhibited was seen by hundreds of people. It only takes one good lead and your stand is paid for.
Everybody went home after a good days work accept one exhibitor who we can't name however he wanted to show us his best dance moves! Melanie Mongoose and Amanda Cowell advised him to keep coming to the fairs and not to give up his day job!
We returned back to the gite got changed and joined Matt and Alistair ( sweetcakes) from Halo financial for dinner in Eymet. We were told about a new bistro and thought we would try it. We were all really tiered and hungry especially the boys. Don't want to say too much about it but the service and attitude was terrible! No customer comes first policy at this place. What a shame especially after the great day we had.
We left the restaurant and headed back. We managed to watch xfactor but fell asleep after that.

Angel Traders Business Fairs

Day 6
Saint Emilion that was our mission today. We left early and got there in just over an hour. Fields and fields of vines and beautiful chateaux.
Cobbled streets pretty shops, bars, cafes, hotels and restaurants.
Poor Melanie has been sick with flu but managed to enjoy a little scenery. We followed the road up through the high street and everybody was staring at us. We thought maybe because our number plate was strange to the area and then we came to a dead end with no entry signs everywhere. Yes the reason everybody was staring was because we had gone up the main high street the wrong way! Once we finally turned around one French man had a right old chuckle. With Melanie still felling poorly we decided to head back to the gite.
We had cooked a nice pork stew in our slow cooker together with onion mash potato and thick gravy. It was perfect to have on this cold autumn day.
Tomorrow we are off to Petit Bersac to visit the chateau where our Christmas fair will be held. We can't wait to see Richard and his beautiful home again.

Someone got sent home at Ruffec !!

Angel traders call in reinforcements at the Ruffec Business Fair as an imposter tries to Wade in on the Success of the Angel Traders business fairs.
This particular imposter seemed scared of the competition and took it upon himself to set up a stand in the car park where the business fair took place trying to give his product away.
After refusing to leave the event Angel traders had no option but to call the police. After several minutes of trying to find every excuse why he had the right to be there the police moved the imposter along.
With the little hipcup out of the way the fair was able to go on.
With a huge variaty of different stands ranging from delicious sizzling sausages to Siddalls finacial experts.
Beautiful tile displays, authors, banks and media coverage filled the 800m2 hall.
We had great feed back from both visitors and exhibitors and something new is learnt from each event.
With thanks to Angloinfo.com and the Connexion and Advertiser newspaper who provide us with excellent media coverage. We would also like to thank our print sponsor Magic Mouse who have supplied many of the colourful banners for the events and Halo Financial giving that personal touch to foreign currency transactions.
We thank you all for your help support and wonderful idea's all of which is listened to and used making the future events even more sucessful.

Day One - Riberac Road Trip

Well we hope you are all ready for this adventure!!.
We left our home at about 3pm and set off to Riberac. We were anticipating arriving at our Gite/13th century chapel at about 6.30 ready for a meal which our host Johnny was going to prepare.

When we got to Poitiers we had a little detour as we had been to a shopping center the day before and we thought we might pop back in and get some items that we had forgotten.

I Amanda had my eye on a nice scarf but while Melanie was trying on trousers some lady walzed over and took it from the manikin!!. I couldn't believe it, as it was the last one. Anyway after Melanie had purchased some clothes we started our journey to Johnny's.
We arrived at 7.40 and were greeted by Johnny and some friendly dogs. We could see a cottage with stain glassed windows through the trees and that was the chapel where we were going to spend the next five nights!!.
Johnny gave us a tour of the monastery and asked us what we wanted to drink I ordered a large gnt and Melanie ordered a large vnt. We needed it to get us through the night in the haunted chapel. We had to have a drink!!.
We opened a bottle of rose before going to have our drinks with Johnny just to get us on our way.
We sat in Johnny's large kitchen with his dog and enjoyed our pre dinner drinks. Well our starter was hot French bread served with goats cheese and figs followed by steak salad and roasted potatoes and vegetables. Dessert was a vanilla tart with carte D'OR ice cream drizzled with casis. Mel downed two bottles of White and me nearly a bottle of rose. Well and truly sloshed and ready to meet the ghosts of the chapel!!.
We stayed in the downstairs room together and put a DVD on to help us sleep. With the amount of alcohol we had consumed I don't think sleeping was going to be a problem.
Melanie decided to put a movie on and we both fell a sleep and I was woken up by the music of the DVD repeating it's self I was too scared to get up but I did and prayed that no ghosts would get me. I then woke at three so thirsty I reached for the water that I could hear Mel guzzling but couldn't find it and couldn't ask her as she had her ear plugs in. I just lay there praying for 8am to arrive. We got up and went to set up the marquee only to find Charlie had done it. What a star. We prepared the tables and got a small erection up!!. That would be our seminar tent. We have reserved our favorite restaurant for tonight and we are waiting for Matt and his friend to arrive. We won't tell them about the ghosts until they go home as it just wouldn't be fair would it.

Day Two - Riberac

Well the boys arrived on time and very excited especially when they saw the chapel!!. We showed them to their rooms and then headed out for something to eat. We met a couple from America looking for a large house to rent for a party that they were planning for next year. We of course recommended the chateau and said that it would be a good idea to visit our business fair. While the boys were enjoying a well-deserved drink we began to tell them about the ghosts!!. So funny they found the thought of that exciting too. We got back to the chapel and went to bed as we new that Friday would be a busy day. Yes survived another night but couldn't hear the boys. We got our things ready and headed to the Riberac market.
We had written to the mairie asking if we could display signs at the parking of the market and he said no but hey someone was looking out for us as a space was waiting right on the entrance. We parked up and put one of our large magic mouse posters on the car. Perfect it was in view for everybody to see. I thought with hundreds of people visiting the market I would adapt two of my other signs into sandwich boards so that I could parade around the market. What we do eh to get business in!!. Melanie had the job of looking pretty and handed out publicity and stood back as for once all eyes were on me!!. Not sure that she could handle that bit.
The weather wasn't so good to us and the heavens opened. Oh yes we continued to walk around that market again and again.
After our duty we went to perigeux to find Melanie a top and to meet up with our mentor Martin from Anglo info for a drink. We had a nice time and got back to the chateau for 4pm for when the portaloo was arriving. Loo arrived and 330 euros later we left to put up our 30 odd signs. Arriving back at the house to meet for dinner 8.20. This time we went to a nice restaurant in Riberac and the rain, the lightening and the thunder struck. It was so powerful we left and went back to the chapel. Oh my god what a shock water was everywhere running into the electrics and the floors in the bathroom and the boys rooms were soaking. The whole place was damp and now being midnight Melanie and I had to get out of there so we called the chateau at 11pm and Jane a member of staff came to the rescue. She offered us a gite just ten minutes from the chateau. Quick as the lightening outside our car was packed we were gone leaving the boys behind!!. At gone midnight Jane’s husband greeted us at gite. His name is Michael so we named him Archangel Michael with the rain in full pelt we carried all our bags in. We had showers and folded over 300 leaflets for the fair. It was 2am and we decided to call it a night.

Show Day - Riberac

Alarm went off a 6.45 and up we got for a shower. We got to the venue and realised that the portaloo needed 80ltrs of water and the hose wouldn't fit. We sent the exhibitors kids on a mission, which I can say they completed. Well done kids. Next job was to show people were there stands and we did have requests to move tables around which we did to keep everybody happy. You know what we are like we like to keep our exhibitors happy.
Well with the perfect venue people kept coming in. Lots of business was made. We said thank you to our sponsors and to our exhibitors and went to say goodbye to Richard of the chateau. He is so nice. We were so tired and Richard had cooked a wicked curry and he packed a meal for the four of us to enjoy at our new Gite. What a fab day everybody had.
Arriving back we cracked open a bottle of champagne.
Sweetcakes and Matt settled down enjoyed our feast and watched a movie.
What a perfect ending to a perfect business fair.

Thank you to all and see you all soon.

English Speaking Business Fair Riberac

ENGLISH SPEAKING BUSINESS FAIR
CHATEAU “LE MAS DE MONTET”
PETIT BERSAC RIBERAC.

Angel traders are returning to the beautiful Dordogne but this time the venue is to be held in the grounds of a magical chateau.
Following the success of their third business fair, which was held in Eymet they decided that the Chateau would be the perfect backdrop for that next venue.
Amanda and Melanie visited the Chateau in August and said “we were amazed with the wonderful tree lined driveway surrounded by 52ha of land and the chateau being positioned to have a view from every angle. The girls met Richard the owner who welcomed them and showed then to the Chateau’s grand summer room, which was full of colourful fresh flowers and a very large cat, perched on the sofa. This particular cat weighs a
Whooping 10kg and makes it his job to personally protect the chateau from any vermin entering through the chateau doors!
The 10 bedroom uniquely furnished chateau has a homely and very romantic feel to it.
Angel Traders invite everybody to visit the business fair on Saturday the 19th of September 2009 between 10am and 4pm. Entrance is free. It is an ideal way to meet trades and services in your area and all under one roof. Please visit our new website for more informaton www.angeltraders.net or you can telephone 0685603726.

News from Angel Traders

Hello to everybody,

Well summer has arrived and we are writing to you all to keep you updated with what we are up to.

This week we are going to Eymet on a road trip. Yes Thelma and Louise are back in action!!. We will be armed with publicity and a tent!!. Should be interesting as Melanie has never been camping before. It will be a whole new experience for her.

Our main reason for the trip is to increase the foot fall for each event, reaching out to everybody that needs the Trade/Service that you can offer.

To enable us to keep the stand prices reasonable we are asking for your help too by contacting all of your contacts and letting them know about each event. Posters and invitations are available on request.

Just to let you all know that angloinfo.com are currently running a "Whats On Guide" advert about the event and all exhibitors will be added to the list and gain free extra publicity. Angloinfo.com also have a classified advert running and a flash banner to follow on the forum page. The Connexion newspaper and the Dordogne Advertiser are also advertising our event. The Dordogne-on-line website have kindly advertised our event together with the news letters from Kevin at Group 47 and Anne Archibald from 1624 has agreed to work her magic. If you look at www.eymetguide.com you will see us on the front page. Our mission this week is to blitz the southern part of the Dordogne with bright large posters in all the local towns and villages around Eymet.

We want our events not to be just popular with the exhibitors but with visitors too.

Stands are selling very well and we have many types of exhibitors but if you haven't already booked then hurry as we can only accept a small amount of the same trades to make each show interesting for the visitors.

For the fair in Eymet, Halo Financial will be sponsoring the after show cheese and wine get together so that in its self is a reason to come!!!.

Until next time.

Day One - Eymet Road Trip

Well we started our trip from Bressuire at 11am. After two hours we realized that we could visit Nico the Wine man from Bordeaux. We gave him a quick call and told him that we would be there in one hour. The weather was really hot and the thought of a nice cold glass of white wine seemed perfect. Well we arrived at his estate, it is so beautiful. He was by himself fixing his tractor.

He welcomed us by saying "have you had something to eat?"

We were thinking wow lunch and wine how perfect was that, we were so wrong I asked him what have you got

he said "nothing I was just asking".

He then offered us a glass of water as he had no cold white wine. Stunned with amazement we said nothing while he gave us a tour of his vineyard. It was great to see him and he said that he is looking forward to Eymet. We got back in the car at 4pm and headed to Bergerac as we had arranged to meet Albert from Aquitiane Langue at 6pm. We asked for directions before leaving but Albert said it's easy to find.
Oh right we ended up in the middle of town at the office du tourism who we must say were so helpful and fluent In English.
We followed directions and managed to get lost again and telephoned Albert. Melanie told me to pull over and turn around, just as I did that we saw the sign for Albert's school, how spooky was that!.
As we drove down the long drive we could see the Chateau in the distance and Albert had come to greet us.
Melanie said " I bet he has got some wine."

Hello girls he said "I bet you would love a nice cup of tea?". We were beginning to wonder if we were in France at all !.
He took us to his classrooms and we had a great chat and a cup of tea. Time was now ticking by and we asked him to reserve the campsite in Eymet. We had asked Albert if he wanted to join us for dinner so this meant we had one hour to get to Eymet and put up our tent. It was still 25 degrees. We found the campsite which is beautiful and started to erect the tent.
All was going well.
I have got to mention before leaving for our trip I bought two new double beds to make the camping trip a nicer experience for Melanie. Anyway the tent was up, inner bedrooms were up ,beds were blown up but they were too big to fit in the compartments. Sweltering hot and horrified Melanie had to open a bottle of fizz which had been kept nicely chilled. We quickly threw our beds in loose, hung up our Christmas lights, plugged our electric in and off we went to find Albert. We were just arriving when we saw him and we all went to a fantastic pizza restaurant. First thing ordered was a huge carafe of chilled Rose wine.

Ah perfect.

We laughed all night exchanging funny stories. Albert walked us back to the campsite and stayed for a hot chocolate. With Albert leaving, Melanie was horrified at the thought of camping and being exposed without an inner tent to sleep in. We finally fell asleep at 12.30 ish and woke at 6am feeling damp and with ear ache from the birds that were singing so loud. Melanie mumbled "what time is it?, I am wet, cold and I've been bitten". Her hand was so swollen.
I was beginning to think that maybe camping wasn't her thing!.
Todays plan is to buy smaller beds to get the inner tents up. This should stop the creepy crawlies and keep the beds dryer!. I hope this will work otherwise it will be the end to a beautiful friendship LOL .
Melanie has been for a run & now she is having a shower. I will take a shower and before it gets too hot we are going to blitz Dordogne with posters.
Until next time ...

Day Two Eymet Road Trip.....

Day two,
We went out early and put flash posters on two of the entrances into Eymet and pasted up loads of posters on bill boards. We bought two new single beds hoping for a better night sleep and then went to get something for the bite on Melanie's hand.
The Market was great and many shops have taken our posters to display in their windows. The atmosphere was great and people were very interested to hear about the fair. We are going back to a translator who wants to sign up for the show and she has other services that could be interested. We had lunch and received a call from our mentor Martin Swanson from AngloInfo.com who wanted to know how it was all going and as per normal gave us some good advice. We went back to the campsite and held a business meeting in the chateux gardens with a glass of wine. Once we had planned what to do next we went and bought fish and chips and ate them outside under the stars!!. Must add Melanie really hates camping but our friendship is still quite strong LOL .
So it was an early night as we received an invitation to dinner Friday night from Albert the French teacher.
Well we woke up at 6am again Melanie has a bad back as her new bed had deflated and she went for a run but still a little moody and she keeps saying that she hates camping. I don't understand why !!. To help ease her moods I cooked eggs and bacon as you can see from the picture she is not a happy camper ha ha.
We have a very busy day today meeting lots of people so we must go now but keep watching for more interesting pics to follow.

Day Three - Eymet Road Trip.......

Let's just say that today we have woken up in a different location. I will now explain how we got here!.
After Melanie's bad nights sleep she didn't stop moaning she was phoning and texting everybody windging even to her brother in Australia. I am such a positive person and she was making me hate camping!. We had decided to go and see Paul from Eymet immobilier and to get a photo of his work place which we did and what a place it is. Colourful photo's of properties surround the shop with elegant arm chairs and plumped cushions in every corner.
We continued to visit a few more people in the town and then we went to see the Mairie to see if we could visit the hall. We were asked to go out the back to another office and we arranged a rendezvous for the afternoon. We said good and I said that we would see the lady at the Salle des fetes no she replied at the Salle Polyvalent. Horror hit me as we have just had 500 posters printed with Salle des fetes printed. What to do next?. We had spent all day Thursday putting up posters and handing out leaflets in Eymet and what with the moaning of Melanie I just wanted to scream. Focus, focus, focus I kept telling myself and decided to ring my husband Rob. I asked him to change all of the originals to correct the name and he found a printers in Bergerac that could print another 500 copies. Our next step was to ring Albert at the Language school to see if Rob could send by email the amended poster. "Yes" he replied "no problem". When we found him I was too stressed for words and Melanie was still repeating " I hate camping". We all went for a sandwich and ate in the grounds of the language school Chateau. Got to admit I did chill for a bit at this point. After Albert showed us where the printers were off we went. While I was making the copies Melanie looked a cross and said "shall I ring that nice lady who has a mobile home and see if we can stay there tonight". With heat rising from the photocopier and it being about 28 degrees outside I replied "do what you want but we are going to Alberts for dinner and the tent will take a while to pack away"!. In a flash the mobile home was booked. A smile appeared across Melanie's face like an uncontrolled bush fire. She was already dreaming of swimming in the beautiful pool. Quickly finishing our printing we realized that we had 15 minutes to reach Eymet to see the Salle. We got there and all was okay but we still had two meetings in Eymet one with the Tandoori and one with a Satellite company and to get the tent down. We had our meetings and two stands were booked. We then went back to the tent. We texted Albert and asked him to bring the food and we would prepare dinner at our new location.
Well the mighty erection took seconds to come down it was the fastest I had seen Melanie move in three days . Everything put very neatly in the back of my car. It now means of course that we need to stay another day to put the new posters up.
Arriving in our new location for 6pm and expecting Albert sometime after 7pm Melanie suggested going for a swim. She almost skipped there with joy. Look at her in the pool she was loving it!!.
After returning from the pool Melanie prepared a salad and I went to light the BBQ. Shiney bright utensils I thought how wonderful. I started to light it and dropped the spatular which had a very sharpe edge and it sliced my finger. I can't look a blood by the way I tend to fall in a heap!!. Melanie reached for our new Lidl first aid kit in the back if the car and ran to get some cream. Meanwhile not looking at my cut finger holding my arm away Albert arrived wondering what I was doing. Melanie did come back not sure if she might of grabbed a swim as I was bleeding to death and it was quite some time before she returned. I think she was getting me back for taking her camping LOL!!.
Well Albert did us proud, we had food fit for a king and queen. We had so much to eat and drink and laughed all night exchanging more funny stories. We really needed that after the day we had had.
The evening finished at midnight and we waved our friend goodbye.
Today Saturday is going to be really busy replacing all of our posters and visiting all the towns. Melanie has just woken up happy with her new location. Thank goodness for that eh!!.

Until next time

What a success

What a weekend that we had in Brantome. With twenty seven stands and a fantastic venue it just couldn't have gone wrong.
We had different stands from Builders to Soap makers. People love to meet trades and services face to face. Living in a foreign country it's sometimes neccesary that the trade you need can speak English.
